Tarta de Mojito
Cuba is the birthplace of the Mojito, although The precursors to rum date back to antiquity. Development of fermented drinks produced from sugarcane juice is believed to have first occurred either in ancient India or China, and spread from there. The history of rum in Spain begins with the arrival of sugarcane to the Iberian peninsular. It is widely believed that the crop was brought to the country by the Moors during their occupation of the peninsular. This is when it began to be cultivated in the southern regions of Spain, as the plant grew well in the conditions found in this part of the country.
