Fig mousse

Mousse de higo

The fig was always a controversial plant. To Christians it was explicitly called the Christian fig, whereas the prickly fruit of the opuntia cactus was called the Moors fig. The Arab saw it similarly- only the other way round. The tree has been connected with sin since Biblical times. After all, Eve and Adam, once they became embarrassed by their nakedness, covered themselves up with fig leaves.
